The Block Inventory is your centralized control panel for every Block you’ve created or imported in Ex.Brain. This is where you can:
- Search and filter Blocks
- Edit or reassign categories and access
- Monitor Block processing and sync status
- See which files are attached, when they were added, and by whom
It’s a combination of a searchable archive, permissions dashboard, and AI dataset manager.
How to Access Block Inventory #
- Click on Block Management from the left sidebar
- Make sure you’re on the “Blocks” tab
- Scroll past the Upload/Integration area — below that is the full list of Blocks
What You See in the Inventory Table #
Column | Description |
Block Name | The title you gave the block when uploading or connecting |
Category | What group this Block belongs to (e.g. HR, Finance) |
Workspace(s) | The Branch(es) this Block is assigned to |
Status | Processing, Completed, Synced, or Error |
Uploaded By | The user who added this Block |
Created Date | When the Block was created or synced |
You can click on each Block to:
- View its contents
- Update name or description
- Reassign category or workspace
- Download attached files
- Delete or archive it
Filter & Search Capabilities #
Use filters to quickly find Blocks based on:
- Category (e.g. only show Marketing Blocks)
- Location (e.g. only Blocks from New York branch)
- Creator (e.g. only files uploaded by you or a teammate)
- Integration Source (e.g. show only QuickBooks data)
The search bar supports keywords, partial matches, and date ranges.
Example: type "2023 revenue" to instantly pull related Blocks across categories
Editing a Block from Inventory #
Click the Edit icon on any Block to change:
- Name
- Description
- Block Category
- Assigned Workspace(s)
- Access Level Permissions (indirectly via category)
Pro Tip: You can’t change the file itself—but you can delete and reupload with new metadata if needed.
Bulk Actions (Coming Soon) #
You’ll soon be able to:
- Select multiple Blocks and reassign categories
- Delete/archive in bulk
- Tag or label Blocks for sorting
This will speed up maintenance for larger organizations.
