What to Do When a File or Block Isn’t Showing Up

1 min read

Sometimes a file you’ve uploaded—or a Block created by an integration—doesn’t appear in your Block Inventory or search results. Here’s how to troubleshoot it.

Reason #1: It’s Still Processing #

New uploads (especially large files or integrations) may take a few minutes to process.

Fix: #
  • Wait 1–5 minutes
  • Refresh your Block Inventory page
  • Check if the file shows a “Processing” tag

For integrations, sync delay could be up to 1 hour depending on the service

Reason #2: It Wasn’t Assigned to a Category or Workspace #

Every Block must have:

  • A Block Category (for organization and access)
  • One or more Workspaces (for visibility and role filtering)
Fix: #
  1. Go to Block Management → Block Inventory
  2. Search or scroll to find the missing file
  3. Click Edit
  4. Assign a category and at least one workspace

Reason #3: Filter Is Hiding It #

You might be filtering your inventory by:

  • Category
  • Workspace
  • Uploaded by (user)
  • Date range
Fix: #
  • Reset all filters using the Clear All Filters button
  • Re-sort by “Date Added” to bring recent files to the top

Reason #4: It Was Deleted or Archived #

Only Admins can delete Blocks. If a file is missing entirely:

  • Ask your Admin to check deletion logs (feature coming soon)
  • Or check your archive view if enabled

Reason #5: The Integration Block Didn’t Sync Properly #

If your file was supposed to appear from a connected app (e.g., Google Drive, QuickBooks):

  • The integration may have failed or is disconnected
Fix: #
  • Go to the Integrations tab
  • Look for warnings or errors
  • Reconnect the integration if needed
