Reviewing and Editing Transcripts After Recording

1 min read

Once your Speech to Knowledge (STK) session is complete, xBlock AI automatically processes the audio and generates a full transcript. This transcript includes speaker separation, timestamps, and editable text—allowing you to review and polish it before exporting or turning it into knowledge documents.

This step is critical for ensuring accuracy and making the exported documents high-quality.

What Happens After You Click “Finish” #

After stopping the recording, STK enters a short processing phase:

  • Transcription is finalized
  • Diarization (speaker separation) begins
  • A notification appears once diarization is complete
  • You’ll see red dot alerts on both the notification center and STK menu icon

Once diarization finishes, the full interactive transcript becomes available for editing.

The Transcript Editor #

You’ll now be taken to a transcript interface, showing:

🗂️ Transcript Panel #
  • Full transcript line-by-line
  • Speakers labeled (e.g., Speaker_01, Speaker_02)
  • Timestamps next to each dialogue block
  • Click on any word to play from that point in the audio
🔊 Audio Player #
  • Located above the transcript
  • Syncs with the text — the word being spoken is highlighted in real-time
  • Allows you to:
    • Play/pause
    • Skip ahead/back
    • Jump directly to any part by clicking on the transcript

Assigning Speaker Names #

By default, STK labels speakers generically. But you can personalize this:

  1. Click the dropdown next to a speaker name (e.g., “Speaker_02”)
  2. Select a name from your team’s employee list
OR type a new name manually
  3. All instances of that speaker will update across the entire transcript

Tip:
Assign names as soon as possible to make the summary and export documents more meaningful.

Editing the Transcript Text #

You can edit any part of the transcript to fix errors, clarify terms, or correct names:

  • Click into the transcript text box
  • Make your changes directly
  • All edits are saved automatically

Note:
These edits will directly affect the final content in the exported documents.

Translate Transcript (Multi-Language Feature) #

Click the language dropdown (top-right of transcript editor):

  • Choose from over 15 languages
  • xBlock will automatically generate a translated version of the transcript
  • Translation is document-based, not just line-by-line

Useful for training, localization, and sharing with global teams

Add to My Ex.Brain (Optional) #

Activate the “Add to My Ex.Brain” switch:

  • This stores the edited transcript as a Block in your Ex.Brain inventory
  • Makes it accessible for Q&A, AI insights, and document generation later
