Roles and Access Levels are critical to how Ex.Brain protects your data and defines what users can see, ask, or manage. When access issues arise, it’s often because one of these settings is misconfigured or incomplete.
Issue: I Don’t Have Access to a Feature (e.g., Meetings, STK) #
You may not have the correct Access Level.
Fix:
- Ask your Admin to check your Access Level assignment
- Confirm that the feature is enabled for your role
- Some features (like STK or Data Lake) may be restricted to specific user tiers
Issue: I Can’t See Certain Block Categories #
Each Access Level controls which Block Categories you can view, search, or manage.
Fix:
- Ask Admin to add the needed categories to your access level
- Ensure your Workspace matches the Block’s assignment
Issue: I Can’t Ask Ex.Brain About a Topic I Know We Have #
This is often caused by:
- Your role being too restricted
- Workspace mismatch (data tagged to a different location)
- Block not being properly categorized or published
Fix:
- Use the checklist: Role + Access Level + Workspace must all match
- Confirm with your team lead or Admin
Issue: Role Was Changed and Now I Can’t See What I Could Before #
Changing a role may also change your Access Level or Workspace.
Fix:
- Ask Admin if the update removed access
- Have them reassign your previous access level if needed
Tip: Always use descriptive Access Level names to avoid assigning the wrong one (e.g., “Finance View Only” vs. “Finance Editor”)
